Our day started in the Big South where the 7-seed Campbell Camels were looking like they were going to win this game, but one-seed UNC Asheville came roaring back to snatch victory. An amazing comeback and incredible conference tournament championship game. 16 people in our pool were rewarded with a win by UNC Ashville punching its ticket. This pool win was needed by all to ensure a shake up in the standings and Novak did not gain a point with this conference. Who the fuck is the women in this picture? 😂
The Missouri Valley conference tournament championship was boring as two-seed Drake cruised to victory over one-seed Bradley by almost 30 points. About half the pool was able to secure a win and caused BI to fall to 3rd place. It's a bit sad that Arch Madness is over, but we still have a week of crazy conference tournaments before Selection Sunday. We now have 3 tickets punched to the 2023 NCAA tournament! 🎫
Finally, in our 3rd and final conference tournament championship game of the day we saw home court underdogs and one-seed Kennesaw State win a close one over two-seed Liberty. Unlike the Missouri Valley disappointment, the Atlantic Sun game was exciting, came down to the last seconds, but unfortunately ended up being decided by the refs. Kennesaw State is going dancing for the first time in school history. Only 5 people picked Kennesaw State and this win really ended up shaping our current standings.
Our standings, which can be viewed here, look completley different than they did only 24 hours ago. Tom and Whit jumped into the top 2 spots, the hard way, by accuracy and not bonus point winning. Tom's accuracy is 50%, which is extremely high, and Whit is close behind at almost 43%. BI is still in the driver's seat based on Max Points, but the risk is he is betting on upsets. Novak is hanging on to 4th place, but accuracy and Max Points are not great. I will post one last blog entry late tonight as all conference tournament seeding should be finalized shortly and we still have some matchups that will result in guaranteed losses. We'll have games ending close to midnight CST tonight so continue to enjoy watching these fun tournament matchups! 🎉
