Sun Belt Favorite Gets Clobbered and Big South Championship Game is Set

What an afternoon of basketball we have had so far today, both regular season and conference tournament games, but we only care about conference tournament games here. We seem to have a break in the action right now so it's a good place to post some updated standings and a blog entry. The standings are updated here for those that want to jump right into the results, but don't forget to come back and read the highlights! ❗

In the Southern Conference (1) Furman beat (8) Mercer by 20 points to tip off the quarterfinals and the pool favorite looked good. However, in the Sun Belt, (1) Southern Miss was clobbered by (8) South Alabama, dishing out 3 losses in our pool. It seems most of us knew better and avoided the 1 seed in this conference.

We had 2 absolutlely fantastic Big South semifinals games this afternoon to start our day and the championship matchup is set. In the first game of the day (1) UNC Asheville won a close one against (4) USC Upstate, which resulted in a loss for Aardvark Tina and Izzy. The 2nd game was a fantastic finish with big underdog undercamel (7) Campbell knocking off (3) Radford to move on to the Big South championship game! Sullivan, Novak and Chris all took the loss in this game.

One last noteworthy game before we wrap up was (1) Bradley edging out (5) Indiana State with last second free throws in the Missouri Valley conference. This gave Izzy another bad loss this afternoon, but we have such a long way to go. Incredibly, BI stands all alone without a loss, huge congratulations to him for this fantastic start as this is a pool record for most days without a single loss. We still have a full schedule of conference tournament games tonight as well as a championship game, happy basketball watching! 🏀
