The evening got started with a huge upset in the Big South when (2) Longwood was blown out by (7) Campbell. For much of the 2nd half the game was not even competitive and now the Camels are going to the semifinals. 8 people in our pool took the loss on this game. At the same time over in the Missouri Valley, (2) Drake took care of business against (7) Murray State and was never in any real danger of losing the game. Nobody picked Murray State, meaning no impact on our pool. 🏀🐫
Moving to the 1st Ohio Valley semifinal tonight (1) Morehead State was defeated by (5) Southeast Missouri State. The number one seed goes down! While this looks like a huge upset when looking at the seed number, Morehead State was only a 3 point favorite, we expected this to be a close game. However, this loss knocked out 63% of our picks and put both BI and Novak in a nice position with Southeast Missouri State headed to the conference championship game. In the 2nd Ohio Valley semifinal game (2) Tennessee Tech, whom nobody in our pool picked defeated (3) UT Martin. Only BI and Novak are alive in this conference and Saturday morning I will detail out our first conference championship game featuring (2) Tennessee Tech vs. (5) Southeast Missouri State.
A few more games to wrap up include (3) Radford easily handling (6) Winthrop in the Big South and (3) Southern Illinois beat (6) Missouri State in the Missouri Valley conference. Only Pizzy was on Winthrop which now knocks him out of the Big South conference. The standings are located here and it is NOT pretty to look at. Only BI and Novak are remaining without a loss. Be on the lookout for a blog entry Saturday morning that will detail out our first conference tournament championship game. Our first ticket to the NCAA Tournament will be punched Saturday. 🎫
