Our Latest Champions: Louisiana-Lafayette and The 'Dins

We now have two more conference tournament champions! First, in the Sun Belt, two-seed Louisiana-Lafayette came roaring back after being down big in the 1st half against the dangerous eight-seed South Alabama to celebrate  a win. Nice job to Team TNT, Ryan, and Brad for picking Louisiana, great win! Over in the Southern Conference, one-seed Furman easily handled the seven-seed Chattanooga in a revenge game and many pool wins were celebrated. I won't put this at the end of the blog entry, I know you want to get right into it, so the standings are updated here. ๐Ÿ“Š

We had so much more action outside of the conference tournament championship games that ended up impacting our pool standings. I feel like I say this multiple times each year, but today was a disaster for most of us.

Starting in the Southland, (8) McNeese State took (4) Nicholls State to overtime and won, while in the Colonial Conference (4) UNC-Wilmington took (1) Hofstra to overtime and came out victorious. In the Horizon League (4) Northern Kentucky ended up murdering the penguins of (1) Youngstown State causing both losses in our pool and helped the pool favorite. Yes, our pool favorite is the four-seed Northern Kentucky! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

In the evening games, back in the Southland, (7) New Orleans knocked off (3) Southeast Louisiana for the second upset in that conference today. Novak and Pizzy were the only ones that suffered losses. In the Summit League, (3) North Dakota State beat (2) South Dakota State, handing out a few pool losses. Finally, in our last notable loss of the night, we're going back to the Horizon League where (3) Cleveland State blew the doors off (2) Milwaukee. Tammy, Pizzy and Matthew all took a loss with that one. ๐Ÿ‘Ž

We'll wrap up the blog by analyzing and breaking down the current standing. While it may look dire for some and fantastic for others, remember that we are less than 20% complete, things can change quick. Tom is sitting in 1st place all alone with an impressive 4 points, all done the hard way, no bonus points. Napervillians are in 2nd place with 3 points and a fantastic accuracy of 42.9% while Team TNT and Running Hoarses are in 3rd and 4th places also with 3 points, but a lower accuracy of 37.5%. The good news for everyone else, nobody is mathematically eliminated yet. ๐Ÿคท
